AI-Powered Collaborative Intelligence Analysis Systems

Mind-Alliance designs research and analysis systems to help analysts to apply structured analytic techniques and produce high-value intelligence products tailored to users' needs. Leaders of some of the world’s leading intelligence agencies and analytic methodologists have described our designs as “the future of intelligence.”

Inspired by Intelligence Community Directives related to analytic standards (ICD-203) and analytic outreach (ICD-205), we leverage AI to inform users of the types of questions that seasoned analysts know to ask and the relevant subject matter experts to contact. Presenting information in the formats and media that users prefer, our systems integrate intelligence from multiple sources to enable think tanks and intelligence agencies to create integrated assessment reports and deliver valuable intelligence to policymakers.

Relevant projects include:

  • The software used by the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) in its Trusted Information Network (TIN-2) project.
  • Prototyping collaborative intelligence analysis software for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI)
  • A PoC for the global threat assessment team at Royal Dutch Shell.

Mind-Alliance organizes and sponsors International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE) events, such as:

The September 2023 Responsible AI in Intelligence Analysis workshop at Georgetown University which includes senior leaders from the U.S. intelligence community (ODNI, CIA and DIA), FFRDCs, academic institutions, and industry organizations.

Crisis Information Sharing Plans

Since no single agency has a monopoly on data and optimal information sharing is not spontaneous, government agencies must thoroughly plan out the inter-organizational flow of information that is required for coordinated security. Our patented crisis information sharing planning method and system supports scenario-based planning. It consistently surfaces preventable delays, bottlenecks, single points of failure, and missed opportunities to prevent or respond effectively to natural disasters and terrorist attacks. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the New York and Vermont state governments have benefited from our approach by identifying preventable information sharing failures.

Technology Approach

We design software solutions that maximize trust through explainability and data transparency. The neuro-symbolic approach to AI combines vector-based techniques, such as generative AI powered by large language models (LLM), with symbolic systems, such as knowledge representation and reasoning that leverage knowledge graphs, ontologies and causal models. See the technology page on MindPeer.com for more information.
